We’re looking for a Volunteer Bookkeeper
Key Responsibilities
- Data Entry: Record and categorize daily financial transactions (income, expenses, donations, memberships) in Sage Accounting Software
- Reconciliation: Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly
- Restricted Funds: Track and report on grant-specific funding and donor-restricted donations
- Event/Shop Management: Process and reconcile petty cash for admissions, gallery shop sales, and events
- Accounts Payable: Manage vendor payments, utility bills, and purchase orders
Ideal Experience & Skills
- 2+ years of bookkeeping experience.
- Good knowledge of working with Accounting Software, preferably Sage
- Certificate, Diploma, in accounting, finance, or related field.
- High attention to detail, ability to handle sensitive information with integrity, and strong organizational skills
We’re looking for a Volunteer Treasurer
This volunteer leadership role plays a vital part in supporting the financial health, accountability, and long-term sustainability of the Art Gallery of Bancroft. The Treasurer works collaboratively with the Board to provide financial oversight, ensure responsible governance, and help guide strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide financial oversight and guidance to the Board
- Prepare and review financial statements, and monitor fiscal performance
- Support budgeting and financial planning processes
- Advise on financial sustainability and risk management
- Provide training and support to bookkeeper
Ideal Experience & Skills
- Background in finance, accounting, business, or related fields
- Some knowledge of Sage cloud based accounting system would be helpful
- Comfortable preparing financial statements, filing Charitable return
- Virtual meeting attendance is an option, should you not be available to attend in person
