“Lonely Wants to Stay Forever”, oil/canvas, 16″ x 20″ by Jennifer Delaney
Sponsored by the Town of Bancroft
We were very lucky to have our show juried this year by Celeste Scopelites. She’s been in her current role as the Director at the Art Gallery of Peterborough since the Fall of 2008. She was previously the Director/Curator at the Art Gallery of Sudbury. And prior to that, Celeste held the position of Curator & Manager, Residency Program at the Living Arts Centre, in Mississauga, Ontario.
Celeste is familiar with managing studio and exhibition spaces and brings experience in strategic planning, fundraising and partnership building. She holds a Masters of Fine Arts degree (MFA) from the Cranbrook Academy of Art in Michigan, an Associate of the Ontario College of Art & Design diploma (AOCA) in Toronto, and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from the University of Guelph. She has completed two terms on the Board of Directors for the Ontario Association of Art Galleries, and is a member of the Canadian Art Museum Directors Organization (CAMDO).
We’d like to extend a big thank you to all our generous award sponsors who help make this event possible.

The Art Gallery of Bancroft is situated on the traditional territory of the Anishinaabeg Algonquins, which is known to be unceded. Indigenous people have been stewards of this land since time immemorial; as such we honour and respect their connection to the land, its plants, animals and stories. Our recognition of the contributions and historic importance of Indigenous peoples is sincerely aligned to our collective commitment to make the promise and the challenge of truth and reconciliation real in our community.
