“Survivors Guilt“, 36″ x 40″
This Painting depicts the aftermath of surviving and having witnessed abuse at the hands of the Residential School. Not having had Help Programs and not being able to cope, thus in turn abusing drugs and alcohol. And while raising their own families, continuing the abuse and their children also turning to drugs and alcohol also repeating the cycle.
My name is Valerie Dawn Chevrier and I am 60 years old.
I enjoy nature and activities that include camping, hunting and fishing. I have always enjoyed drawing and did my first actual painting in the year of 2018. I have enjoyed the relaxing time when I’m painting and have continued to paint since then.
