“Staying Resolute on a Starlight Tour“, 40” x 30”
This painting represents the Indigenous women who have been taken and suffered at the hands of their abductors. They were abused and left to die, alone in the cold of winter.
My name is Pamela McElheran, and I am a retired Personal Support Worker who worked with physically and mentally handicapped adults after finishing my PSW2 course in 1997.
I was born and raised in North Bay and moved back after being away for about 20 years. I enjoy writing poetry, songs, and doing crafts such as dream catchers, painted teepee and headdresses.
I started painting late in life, around 2017, and continue to enjoy painting every chance I get. My goal is to become a professionally recognized artist.

The Art Gallery of Bancroft is situated on the traditional territory of the Anishinaabeg Algonquins, which is known to be unceded. Indigenous people have been stewards of this land since time immemorial; as such we honour and respect their connection to the land, its plants, animals and stories. Our recognition of the contributions and historic importance of Indigenous peoples is sincerely aligned to our collective commitment to make the promise and the challenge of truth and reconciliation real in our community.
