I am primarily a self-taught artist, having engaged in occasional classroom learning.
I enjoy using impressionism, symbolism and realism to express the beauty, power and magic of nature, ideas, scenes and life in colourful, creative pieces.
I have been creating and painting for most of my life involving a variety of materials and mediums, including: glassblowing; ceramics; stained glass; stone carving – both hard and soft stone; drawing and sketching with graphite, watercolour and coloured pencils; painting with watercolours, oils, gouache and acrylics.
My artistic influences include Anishnaabe philosophy and symbolism, Canadian cultural values, plus personal studies, beliefs, preferences and experiences.
I am a great-granddaughter of Algonquin Chief John Baptiste, affiliated with the Kijicho Manito Madaouskarini of the Bancroft and Maynooth area. Raised in the Bancroft area, I have lived and worked in Toronto and Peterborough areas and, since 2014, I have been living in St. Catharines, Ontario.

The Art Gallery of Bancroft is situated on the traditional territory of the Anishinaabeg Algonquins, which is known to be unceded. Indigenous people have been stewards of this land since time immemorial; as such we honour and respect their connection to the land, its plants, animals and stories. Our recognition of the contributions and historic importance of Indigenous peoples is sincerely aligned to our collective commitment to make the promise and the challenge of truth and reconciliation real in our community.
